"The Dreaded RSV"

I was hoping to avoid the "RSV" cold in my home. Dumb thought probably with a 1yr old and a 2yr old. Devin has had RSV the past week, and let me tell you for those that there kids haven't had it yet, be glad cuz it is a nasty one. Last Sunday night Chris and I had the kids up to my parents for dinner. Devin just started burning up out of no where and was acting really lathargic, so much that his eyes started to roll back. It was really scary and truthfully I just thought it was a ear infection. He tends to spike really high fevers with those. So Chris and I made the decision to leave addison at my parents and take dev to the instacare to be checked. The reason I jumped at the idea of something being wrong, was because I had Ibuprofen in him and his temp was still 103. He had a cold for about six days but nothing major. He started with a slight cough maybe 2 days prior to sunday. Addi had been so sick the two weeks before I just assumed that he had her cold. Well long story short when we got to instacare we noticed that devin's breathing was really shallow. He was so congested he could hardly breath. It was really scary, and his oxygens were even low. So needless to say the doctor saw him and sure enough he had an ear infection, but on top of it the doctor suspected RSV. So we had to do this horrible suction procedure to get some mucus. They took that to do a rapid test and see if it came back positive for RSV. Mean while chris was an absolute wreck. I have never seen him get so emotional. He had to hold devin down while they did this procedure, and the whole time devin kept screaming for daddy. I haven't seen chris cry over much before, but he did over his little buddy. After it was all said and done the doctor came back with a positive result for RSV :( Let me just say to you all this is nasty nasty stuff and is highly contagious. You do not want your little ones to get this. I'm just terrified now that my little squirt 1 yr old will pop up with it. It would be alot worse if addi got it because she had alot of lung problems when she was born. They told us back in the NICU that because she needed the ventilator to breath for her when she was born, that it may create some problems with her lungs when she is older. So something like RSV would really attack her little lungs, and could possibly hospitalize her. I just hope for the best that she doesn't get it. I have tried to keep the two apart, wash hands, etc.... but it's almost impossible to keep them from eachother 100%. I take Devin today for his follow up appt to see if he still has the RSV in his chest, and find out if he is still contagious. I will give you the update on how it all goes.....

"17 Week Ultrasound"

This ultrasoundsound was so exciting!! The little man looks awesome, and he is on TARGET! I don't want to ever get to excited, but I have to say it feels good to hear good stuff for once. There was a blood test they did on me to test my placenta about a week ago. It was to see if the placenta was having any problems yet. Well...... it came back negative they said they saw no signs of insufficiencies at this point. I was really excited to hear that, now granted this doesn't mean this pregnancy will go perfect, I'm just looking for better though :) Anyways I put the cutest little profile of the little man on this post, and I promised you all a belly pic for 17 weeks. So look below to see the belly pic of this little peanut. I wont lie I think my belly is already pretty big, but again I don't want to get my hopes up :) Well enjoy.......

"It's A Boy"

I have been way behind on blogging. So I'm posting the most important things that have happened in the last month. Well It's a boy!! Chris and I are so excited, we feel really lucky to be following the pattern of boy, girl, boy. I think Devin will be so excited to have a little brother to rough house with. Don't kid yourselves though, I think our little Addison will hold her own with these two boys, she is a little firecracker. Well I actually have an ultrasound this thursday, it's the first growth scan on the baby. We are just praying that all the heparin shots are working and he is right on target. So stay tuned for a post on that. I also will be posting my first belly picture with this little man on thursday. Until then look for any new posts in between.

"Addison's Big 1year Party"

I just cannot even believe that my little princess turned 1 year old on Feb 24th. I feel like it was only yesterday that I was waiting anxiously to deliver her. I will say she was a little pistol to get here, and fought every step of they way. I am so proud of what a beautiful little girl she has already become. She is so full of life and is more energetic than I could imagine. She cruises furniture like you wouldn't believe, stands on her own, and crawls like a wild woman everywhere Devin goes. She we will be walking I predict within a month. She is right where she should be for her age being that she was 2 months early. She is now 28 inches long and drum roll please, a whopping 15lbs 12oz LOL!!! She is the definition of petite :) Anyhow we had a party the 26th for her that was awesome. so enjoy the pics below.

"Chris Turned 30"

So Chris really wanted to keep his 30th birthday low key, but I had other plans in mind :). So I decided to throw him a suprise party. We had it at the Rock Creek Pizza in Sandy. I had the back room rented out and all of our family came to support the cause. It turned out awesome he was so suprised. How I found time to pull off a suprise party I'm not sure, but I'm glad I did. Devin and Addi had so much fun helping daddy open presents and blow out candles :)
