Devin's Baseball Practice 2016

I cannot say enough how proud I am of Devin!! He tends to be a little shy and nervous, and always wanting direction. he warms right up though once he has the hang of it. Today at baseball practice he made me so proud. He came to me with tears in his eyes when it was his turn to bat. I looked at him and asked "what's wrong buddy"? He said "mom what if I don't hit the ball"? I took the oppurtunity at that moment to let him know it was about having fun, learning how to swing, and most importantly that it didn't matter if he hit the ball. In the video below I caught him hitting the ball, and he was so proud of himself. This is a moment I wanted to remember and never forget. I'm so thankful that I get a chance to be a mom and feel the emotions of unconditional love. I would do anything to make my kids happy.

Addison's Christmas Dance Recital 2014

This beautiful girl of ours did awesome at her christmas recital! She was put front and center because she knew the dance so well. Her teacher told us that all the other girls would just watch her and copy. We couldn't be more proud of our baby girl. I have waited my whole life to first have a little girl, and secondly to watch her dance. The energy and enthusiasm she had during the dance was priceless. let's just say this girl is not shy, and likes to perform. I myself loved performing at dance when I was a little girl. I guess we can say she's a chip off the old block. We love you Addi Lynn and are so proud of you!

How To Truly Parent

So these past couple of weeks have been emotionally exhausting. My husbands first cousin passed away. She was only 22 years old. Such a sad situation of how it happened too. It was a drug overdose that ultimately took her life. I couldn't wrap my head around the whole concept of losing a child. I imagined that as the parent you are thinking to yourself: where did I go wrong?, Should I have done more of this or that? etc... I have discovered that you only get one shot to raise your children. You better implement everything you think you should. Then reality kicked in, which was even more terrifying. You can do everything just right and your child can still stray. So now I'm completely distraut at this point in my mind. What is the key then, what is the answer to good parenting? Well take it for what it's worth, but the answer I came up with is LOVE! Not just any kind of love though. I'm talking about unconditional love here. You just have to hope and pray for the best for each of your children. Being that I have 3 kids under the age of 5 it's pretty overwhelming. The only advice I can give as a parent that (definately doesn't have all the answers) is to love each child individually. Do your best to meet their needs that matches each of them. Make them feel special and important in this life. Make sure that no matter what you always say "I Love You". What are any of your thoughts on how to truly parent?? I would love to hear :)

"Best Buddies"

This right here is what it is all about!! They all may say "Oh those Duncan's are CRAZY!" Let me tell you though there was a point to why we had our 3 kids so close together. We wanted them to have a best buddy ofcourse that was in there same age group for their whole lives. So far Devin and Addison have proven this theory to be true. Don't get me wrong they still beat eachother up etc... but they don't like doing ANYTHING without eachother. I took this picture the other day outside in the backyard. Ofcourse they both had to have the same color otter pop :) I am grateful for my three beautiful children, and the friendships they will have for life.

"Addison 2 Year Photo Shoot"

Okay okay I wouldn't really call it a photo shoot, considering I took the photos. Let's be honest I know I'm no photographer! I do have to say though I didn't do to bad. I'm going with a "Fairy Princess" theme this year for her 2nd birthday. I'm doing a princess and knights theme. I wanted a gender nuetral party. Addison tends to have alot of friends that are BOYS. Hmmm this better not become a pattern :) Anyways take a look below at the photos I got.......

I can't believe my little dude has to have surgery. I am so so scared for this and just pray that everything runs smoothly. Devin goes in the morning of November 9th to be prepped for surgery. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts! I appreciate all of my family, friends, and my ward that have already offered a helping hand in advance :) thank you!!

"Me And My Little Girl"

I loved this picture of Addi and I the day before halloween at Granny and grandpa's house!! All of my kids were farm animals this year hence the name "Duncan Baby Farm" on my blog :) I figured it was fitting considering we have 3 kids under 3. So my little Addison was the cow! This costume is size 9-12 month, she is just our little petite girl! Back when she was in the NICU they used to call her a little pixy because she was just so danty and tiny, not much has changed. I am just so grateful to have a little girl to call my daughter! She is so full of life and is just hilarious. Addi has such a presence about her that just lights up a room, especially her extra cheesy grin :) She makes me want to be the best woman I can be. I want to be the best example to her as a duaghter, wife, mother, and sister!! She inspires me to work hard at obtaining all of these qualities that she already exudes! Sometimes I wonder who really is the example to who. I learn far more from my beautiful daughter sometimes then I feel she learns from me. Thank you Addison for being my precious daughter and always putting a smile on my face. You are my best girl and I will love you forever and always!! Love Mommy

"Weight Loss Count Down"

So here I am once again trying to lose pounds after a baby!! Well this time folks it is my THIRD and LAST!! You all heard me right the Duncan's are done having babies :) So with that being said I can really focus on getting myself back in shape, but not just back in shape, in the best shape I can be in!! Now that I am done having kids I can get myself where I want and try to keep it there knowing I don't ever have to be pregnant again aaaahhhhh! I can breath a sigh of relief. Being 28, having three kids, and being done is a good feeling. So with all that being said I am on a weight loss count down.

I can't believe I am going to reveal my weight to you all, but it's a tradition I have revealed after each pregnancy!! So whatever I will just tell you my weight now, and then my target goal. So I am now 125lbs. I was 117 before I got pregnant with Dayton soooooo I am hoping to lose just a couple more pounds below the 117 mark. I would like to be 115lbs. I know that may sound steep to some of you, but I have always been around that weight until I started having babies. I am only barely 5'4" so that weight looks fine on me. I just need to work my butt off to roughly lose 10 pounds. Any suggestions of good weight loss programs would be much appreciated :).........

"I Think So"

I had to post about the funniest thing Devin said to me!! So the other night driving home I was saying to him "mommy loves you". Then he was saying back "love you too". So after a minute or two of silence I asked him "Do you love mommy"? His reply was "I think so"! Oh my gosh I started laughing so hard and could not believe that was his answer. I didn't teach him that phrase, and how did he know to answer my question that way. All I know is that I wanted to write this down so I didn't forget. It truly is amazing what your kids observe you do even when you think they aren't looking or oh they wont get that!! Well news flash they DO. I have decided that our kids are a product of what we are. So I want to make sure that I can be the best example I possibly can be to my kids! They mean the world to me and they make me want to do such good things :)

"Brotherly Love"

So this picture melted my heart!! I love seeing my two boys together and knowing what best buddies they will be. Devin and Addison are so adorable together now, and I know they will be the same towards Dayton. I don't care if people think Chris and I are crazy for having 3 kids under 3 years old! I absolutely love it and quite frankly haven't found it to be that hard. Our kids have found a friend for life in eachother by being so close in age. This picture says it all and makes everything we have done worth it. Dev just recently wanted to start holding dayton. He just stares at him and says "Hi brother Dayton" He will pat him and say "shh shh shh" trying to keep him calm. Just goes to show how smart a 2 year old is. He only could have picked that up by simply watching how I am with Dayton. I love these two precious boys!!
